“Essere Umani” was a project commissioned to celebrate 25 years of Casa a Colori, an association operating in the Vicenza area to provide concrete help to migrants, foster social cohesion, and promote education.
In collaboration with the subjects themselves, photographic portraits were made that show the unique essence of each individual and their life experience.
The process of creating these portraits was collaborational: full control over one’s rights and the choice of how to be represented were ensured through informed consent and constant communication.
The final exhibition was financed by citizens themselves through crowdfunding and hosted at Palazzo Bonaguro.
